New Diamond Cut: Louis Vuitton’s Four-Pointed Stars
Louis Vuitton is launching a jewelry collection featuring a unique Monogram Star diamond cut – replicating the fashion brand’s famous pattern, as used in handbags, suitcases, leather goods and accessories.
Diamonds cut as a 53-facet four-pointed star are being set in rings, earrings and pendant necklaces that will be launched next week in Singapore as part of the LV Diamonds collection.
The cut is a tribute to the historic LV Monogram pattern, invented in 1896 by Georges Vuitton to be used on steamer trunks.
LVMH – Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton – bought Tiffany & Co for $15.8bn in January 2021 after protracted negotiations, after snapping up the 1,758-ct Sewelo, the world’s third largest rough diamond, for an undisclosed sum in January 2020.
